You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us? But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” James 4:4-6 (NIV)
Our misery comes in fighting things that we can't do anything about.
No matter what happens in the world, God will protect us if we are obedient to do what he asks us to do.

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 1 Peter 5:10
Grace is the power of the Holy Spirit coming to us free of charge to enable us to do with ease what we could never do on our own.
When you have grace for something you don't have to murmur all the way through it or be depressed all the way through it. You can do it with joy and good attitude.
