Prayer?!

Today is the national day of prayer!

Yay! A whole day dedicated to prayer!
Now I ask you something...If today wasn't the national day of prayer would you even have remembered to pray today?

In your prayers do you just ask God for things, or did you take the time to thank him for what he has already given you?

I have a personal experience with prayer that I would like to share. It may seem simples and stupid, but it shows the power of prayer.

I get home from work one night, extremely tired and moody! All I wanted was to be able to have a decent conversation with my husband. But I had to make dinner and my husband was in the living room watching TV. Now everybody knows men cannot multitask like women can. So it was either he watched TV or come to the kitchen and talk to me. Anyways, (remember I was moody)as I was loading my dishwasher I prayed in spirit, asking God to help me with that situation. I wanted to spend time with my husband but I was tired of arguing about the TV. I was tired of having to ask him to come next to me while I did my duties so we could talk and spend time together.(I didn't flip out, scream, or even ask my husband to come to stay with me.) Minutes later, as I was still cleaning the sink, my husband comes up to me and starts talking. And before I knew it he sits at the kitchen table and stays there as I was doing what I needed to do.
Conclusion: Prayer works! But you have to believe and trust in God! Also, never limit what you put in the presence of God, because he is powerful in small and big things!

Never give up, no matter what you're going through. Ask the Lord in prayer to help you get through it! Because he is faithful and he'll answer you if it's his will.
