Close the door

But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Matthew 6:6 (NIV)

Not everything that seems like is pleasing God's heart really is...
We have to be careful not to be known as the Christian who only seeks God when he/she is in public. How many opportunities do we loose each day to close the door to the world and pray to our Father?

The door in our life may not always be literally "the door". The door that we are not closing may be the t.v., computer, games, friendships, relationships and anything else that keep us from being alone with our heavenly father!

Pray with me:
Dear God, I choose to close any door in my life that keeps e from being alone in your presence. From anything that keeps me from seeking your face and praying to you. I choose to please your heart, and be closer to you. Help me not to get away from your presence. In Jesus name. Amen.
