Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, “I gave birth to him in pain.” Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request. 1 Chronicles 4: 9-10 (NIV)
This guys name meant pain. Imagine being called pain every time your name was called?!?! In this man's life nothing lead him to have hope. None of the circumstances in his life said that he would be successful. But when he cried out to God things changed in his life.
We may look into our life and realize that we have no reason to have hope or success. But when we cry out to God with a sincere heart, he listens and grants our request. With God loneliness no longer is part of our life.
To have God come in to your life today pray with me:
Dear God, I declare you are my God and savior. The only one who I can depend on. I put my life in your hands and ask you to take control of my circumstances, my emotions, my wills and wants. I put everything in your hands. I thank you for you are faithful at all times. In Jesus name. Amen.
